JOB TITLE – ADMIN ASSISTANT/SHOP WORKER

 

Part time 10-15 Hours per week

Salary £11.75 per hour

25 days paid holiday per annum (Includes all U.K Bank holidays)

Core Hours of work 10:00 am-12:00 pm working 5 days a week Monday-Friday

 

ABOUT US

 

We are a small family-run company that has been based in Weymouth since 1933. Our business is built on customer service and satisfaction. We provide equipment, know-how and instruction to those who struggle with the day-to-day changes in technology. We have a large loyal customer base who look to us for support and advice. We work with both domestic and commercial customers in the South Dorset area.

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

 

We are looking for a person who will be able to undertake 2 main roles.

Role 1) General day to day admin for the business. This would involve working with basic computer programs, updating files, writing letters etc.

Role 2) Day to day interaction with a small number of customers. The person will be situated in a quiet retail environment and will interact with a small number of customers looking for new TV equipment and booking-in equipment for repair.  

There is a small amount of negotiation in the working hours but 3 hours Mon-Fri in the mornings is required.

The start/finish times would be agreed at the start of the role and once agreed they will remain fixed.

This can be discussed upon application or at an interview.

 

SPECIFIC ROLES

  • Database entry on both computer and paper

  • Updating records and sending out correspondence as required

  • Invoicing

  • Making/receiving phone calls

  • Stock control

  • Basic cleaning

  • Talking to members of the public in a retail environment.

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS – MAIN ROLE

  • Fluent spoken English (Essential)

  • Good communication skills. Time is spent in the shop talking to customers and assisting them with problems.

 

 

POSSIBLE SECONDARY ROLE

 

We also offer options of a possible progression and extra hours may be available to cover holidays and busy periods by prior arrangement. There are other aspects within the business that involve house calls to customers in the local area. Basic instruction on TV usage, TV installation and problem diagnostics etc. Training for this work would be included should the candidate show an interest in the role. This would offer chances to earn extra hours at certain times of the year and possibly on a more permanent basis should the candidate show an aptitude for this work. Interest in these roles would be beneficial to any candidate’s application but by no means essential.

 

  • Call outs to customers houses to diagnose issues with TV’s and systems.

  • Basic TV and equipment installation.

  • Collection/delivery of customers equipment for repair.

  • Basic understanding of TV menu driven fault diagnosis (tuning, sound adjustment etc)

  • If you think you could set up a TV at home, we can teach you the rest.

  • Full on job training would be provided

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS REQUIRED FOR SECONDARY ROLE

 

  • Fluent spoken English (Essential)

  • Full UK driving licence (Essential)

  • Good communication skills. Time is spent with customers discussing and understanding their problems.

  • Full DBS clearance (Obtained by ourselves)
