Coronavirus (Covid-19) Statement – Update 12/04/21 We are delighted to announce that in line with government guidance our premises in Park Street is back open and we are operating our usual opening times. Due to the compact nature of our shop we still operate a 1 out, 1 in policy to ensure the safety of both staff and customers. We do also ask that masks be worn upon entering the shop for any reason. We have sanitizer available in the shop and if you have forgotten a mask then please ask the staff and they will be able to provide you with one.

         During the entire pandemic Touts have managed to provide a call out and repair service. Our customers are our most important asset and we have ensured good practice throughout to maximize the safety of staff and clients. We continue to monitor all guidance issued by the government and our engineers still operate social distancing as well as the correct use of masks and PPE where required. On top of this our staff now undergo twice weekly Rapid reaction Covid tests to minimize any risk as much as possible. 

         If you have any concerns or special worries about a visit to your home by one of our engineers please call ahead and we will try to do whatever we can to alleviate any worries. 

We have seen over the last 12 months that nothing is certain and that times can be testing. We are still unsure as to what will happen in the near to medium term and how long all of the regulations will fully affect all of us.  While we are still unsure as to how the long term issues of Covid will effect everyone we are aware that a TV is an ongoing major source of company and information for all the most venerable people as well as others and some people really are going to struggle to do without should it go wrong. Here at Touts TV & Smart Home Centre we will continue to provide service to those in need in the coming months. We are going to extreme lengths to serve the South Dorset community as we have done for the last 87 years. Unless government advice forces us to shut down entirely , or we ourselves are forced to self isolate, we will still be providing essential service to anyone in need where possible. We feel there is a genuine risk to people’s mental wellbeing, levels of social loneliness as it is and the thought of being on your own without TV will be very scary and worrying for many. We are implementing steps to keep the safety of our staff and customers at the highest possible levels. These include the use of disposable protective equipment, masks, gloves, regular hand washing before and after visits in accordance with current recommended advice. We are talking to customers before visits to ensure a safe distance between parties is maintained. We are aware that guidelines are altering all the time and are keeping up to date with information provided by government. If you have any questions or issues regarding your TV, signals, or visual equipment, either for yourself or for a relative or friend that is in need, then please give us a call to see in what way we are able to help. As well as service call outs for problems, we can very quickly provide and install new equipment and try to get extra TV's installed in a bedroom or separate area where someone is required to self isolate within a property.
